The Russian side sees no reason for doubts about the objectivity of the elections in Venezuela. This was announced today during a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
«During the current gubernatorial elections, 4.8 million people voted for the opposition, which is much lower than in 2015 — 7.7 million votes. The Venezuelans advocated a political solution to the problems. Talk about fraudulent ballots do not have to», — explained Zakharova.
She also added that Moscow considers unacceptable pressure from the world community in the form of sanctions.
Let’s remind, Venezuela held elections to a new authority — the Constitutional Assembly. Turnout was 41.5% or 8,089,320 people. However, the opposition says that no more than 12% of the population came to vote.
