The Foreign Ministry recalled that on 17 April a session of the OPCW Council was convened to discuss a closed report. The technical secretary of the OPCW arrived in England to assess the investigation conducted on the poisoning of Russians. In particular, OPCW experts stated that the BZ substance found in the samples is not relevant to the Skripal case. The poison substance was planted in a laboratory in the UK to confirm the competence of the laboratory. This, they say, is standard practice.
«Tests look strange and continue to lead everyone astray. The OPCW laboratory had one task: to find out whether the nerve agent was used in Salisbury. The laboratory did not target the search for other poisons. In the biometric samples of Yulia Skripal, a toxic chemical was discovered unchanged, two weeks after the poisoning,» Zakharova emphasized.
According to her, it is unclear why substances in the human body have not changed.
«Now it is clear that, given the ambiguity, we need to have all the available information, and not just squeeze out the report. We are counting on getting all the answers. The Russian Federation is still ready to cooperate in this to a very, very confusing business. We recommend London do not hurry with the destruction of evidence, «concluded Zakharova.
