The Russian Football Union has started to check the data of the results of doping tests of players of the Russian Football Championship in the period from 2012 to 2015. The decision was provoked by the decision of WADA to transfer to FIFA the data of the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory, where the names of the players appear.
The RFS recalled that all the samples handed out by the players of the national team in preparation for the 2014 World Cup, the 2016 European Championships and the Confederation Cup of 2017 were negative. A similar situation with European competition is in recent years.
«In connection with the policy of maximum openness, the RFS is ready to provide full support to FIFA in the investigation of alleged cases of doping in Russian football, and also hopes for an impartial assessment by international organizations — WADA, IOC and FIFA,» the union said.
Let’s remind that the events unfold against the backdrop of lifetime disqualification of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Mutko from participating in the Olympic Games, which experts «drive» from the post of head of the RFS.
