Russian leader Vladimir Putin filed the papers to the Central Election Commission to participate in the election race. The politician intends to put forward his candidacy for a public vote. The President intends to run for a fourth term.

Being elected, this presidential term will be the fourth. Putin first assumed the presidency in 2000. After 4 years, he was re-elected for a second term. After his place was taken by Dmitry Medvedev (from 2008 to 2012), Vladimir Putin was appointed prime minister of the country. In 2012, the politician decided to run for the third time. Now he intends to participate in the election race for the fourth time.
Elections will be held on 18 March next year.
