About 4% of Russians believe that the Syrian leader is behind the chemical attack near Idlib. This is reported by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center according to the April survey of citizens of the country.
The poll showed that 85% of Russians heard about the events that had taken place in early April, when allegedly in Syria there was a massacre of residents.
At the same time, 17% believe that there was no chemical attack. Another 37% are sure that the troops of the banned organization in the Russian Federation ISIS are behind the attack.
In addition, if it turns out that all the government troops still arranged a chemical attack, then the support of the Syrian leader Bashar Assad should be stopped. This was stated by 54% of respondents.
VTsIOM summed up that the majority of Russians found unconvincing the formal reason for operations by the US leader Donald Trump. At the same time, Russians are inclined to believe that in case of abuse of trust by Bashar Assad, it is better not to deal with him.
It should be reminded that the US authorities accused the leadership of the SAR in the chemical attack, which allegedly occurred on 4 April in the city of Khan-Sheikhun in the province of Idlib. The media wrote that 80 people were the victims of the attack, and 200 people were injured.
