Ella Pamfilova told reporters today that observers for the upcoming presidential election would not be invited from the Central Election Commission of Ukraine.
«It would be wicked and pointless now to send an invitation to the elections in Ukraine. This is unrealistic,» the CEC chairman told reporters.
According to Pamfilova, our country has made every effort to ensure that in the last elections citizens of Russia who at the time of the campaigns resided in Ukraine could vote.
«You know how difficult it was, how it was impeded. Therefore, in this case, I do not want to dissemble or express any unrealistic possibilities. The level of relations between our countries in this situation so far does not allow us to exchange observers,» Pamfilova said.
In addition to questions about the participation of observers from Ukraine, the question was also discussed whether delegates from the United States will be present at the presidential elections in Russia in March 2018. Let’s remind, in 2016, the Central Election Commission invited colleagues from the US to the Duma elections.
«But there is such a structure that it is difficult to understand who can come. We were sent to several addresses, but there was no reaction,» Ella Pamfilova told.
