During the 425 meeting of the Federation Council Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told on the main principles of foreign policy for the year.
«Among our priorities is the post-Soviet space. We are in favor of harmonizing integration processes with access to large Eurasian cooperation,» he said.
«We continue to develop cooperation with China. This is an important stabilizing factor in international relations. We develop relations with India and other regions. This contributes to the development of Siberia and the Far East,» the head of the diplomatic mission said.
Speaking about cooperation with the US and the European Union, Lavrov said that it will be based on the principles of mutual respect and a balance of interests.
«The US is again adopting laws that do not contribute to improving relations. We do not go to confrontation, but we will respond.
«The EU acts in many ways in the interests of the US, and as a result, these decisions negatively affect the European economy,» Lavrov said.
«Our multi-vector policy will not be held hostage to the EU conjuncture,» the minister concluded.
