Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump, as well as the military of the two countries will not admit a 100% military confrontation, RIA Novosti reports citing Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
«Coming back to the issue of the risks of military confrontation, I assume 100% of the fact that the military will not allow it, and this, of course, will not allow either President Putin or, I’m sure, President Trump. They are still leaders who are elected by their peoples, they are responsible to these nations for peace and tranquility,» the Russian Foreign Minister noted.
Let’s remind, experts began to discuss the risks of a military confrontation between the Russian Federation and the United States against the background of events in Syria. A number of Western countries accused Damascus of a chemical attack on the Syrian city of the Duma in East Gut. Moscow, in turn, denied the information about the chlorine bomb allegedly dropped by the Syrian military. At that time, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the purpose of throwing information on the use of poisonous substances by the troops of Syria is to justify possible power strikes from outside.
On 14 April, the United States, Britain and France hit rocket attacks on Syrian government targets. The Syrian authorities have repeatedly stated that the entire chemical arsenal was taken out of the country under the control of the OPCW.
