For the upcoming presidential elections in the Russian Federation, which will take place as early as March 2018, almost 18 billion rubles have been allocated from the federal budget. The Central Election Commission of Russia has already received financial resources.

On 15 December, the Federation Council appointed elections on 18 March, and on 18 December the decree was published in Rossiyskaya Gazeta, which testifies to the beginning of the election campaign. The CEC has already gained access to financing and distributed funds during the meeting.

98.7% of funds, that is, 17.697 billion rubles are directed to the preparation and conduct of elections. Already tomorrow, on 19 December, the regions will receive the money. Another 123 million rubles will be addressed to the bodies that are engaged in registration of voters.

109 million rubles will also be allocated to fulfill the powers of the Central Election Commission. The Moscow Election Commission will also receive 575.286 million, and the commission of St. Petersburg 309 million rubles.

In addition to the state bodies of the Russian Federation, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will also receive the money to organize voting for citizens who live abroad.
